Using the Machine
To use a Coinstar machine:
- Place coins in the tray.
- Allow them to enter the machine slowly.
- Do not overload the machine.
Once the counting is complete, a receipt will print showing the total value. The maximum amount of coins accepted per transaction is $2,000.
Fees and eGift Card Options
Customers have two options for redeeming their coins:
- Cash: Incurs an 11.9% fee.
- eGift Card: No fees are charged.
Coinstar offers eGift cards from various merchants, though selection varies by location. In addition, customers can opt to donate their coins to charity partners. However, some charities may not be available at all locations.
